How much do Google Ads cost in Singapore?

There is no fixed price list. Here is what actually decides what you pay per click and per enquiry, and how to keep it under control.

It is the first question most business owners ask, and the honest answer is that Google does not sell ads at a fixed price. Every time someone searches, Google runs a live auction between the advertisers bidding on that search. What you pay depends on who else is bidding, how relevant your ad is, and what you are willing to spend.

What decides your cost per click

  • Competition. Searches with many advertisers, such as legal, renovation or aircon services, cost more per click than niche searches.
  • Quality. Google rewards ads that match the search closely and lead to a useful page. A better Quality Score can mean paying less for the same position.
  • Location and timing. Targeting all of Singapore at all hours costs more than targeting the areas and hours your customers actually enquire.
  • Match types and negative keywords. Loose keyword settings let your ad show for searches that were never going to buy.

Cost per click is not the number that matters

A cheap click that never turns into an enquiry is expensive. The figure worth watching is cost per enquiry: how much you spend, on average, to get one call, WhatsApp message or form. Two accounts with the same cost per click can have very different costs per enquiry, depending on the landing page and the searches they show for.

How to set a starting budget

Start with what one new customer is worth to you, and how many enquiries it usually takes to win one. That tells you what you can afford to pay per enquiry. The first weeks of a campaign are partly about collecting data, so expect costs to settle as weak keywords are removed and bids are adjusted.

Where budgets usually leak

  • Showing for irrelevant searches, like jobs, courses or DIY.
  • Sending traffic to a homepage instead of a page about the service searched for.
  • Not tracking calls and WhatsApp clicks, so the account optimises for clicks instead of enquiries.
  • Campaigns left on the same settings for months.
